Heroes Ep: Turn and Face the Strange
Apr. 7th, 2009 08:31 pmI kind of like that TPTB haven't been trying to shoehorn every character into every episode lately. It gives the audience more of a chance to connect with the characters. On the other hand, when an episode is made up entirely of storylines you're not that interested in, it can make for a very long hour.

Heroes Ep: Into Asylum
Mar. 31st, 2009 04:37 pmUpdate: My computer has a new hard drive (thanks,
bit_boy!), but I'm still going through the process of installing a program, downloading the updates, resetting my preferences, installing another program, etc. I do have Internet at home finally and I installed anti-virus software last night. As soon as I get Firefox tweaked back the way I like it, I'll at least be back online from home while I try to get all my files and programs back in place. I also discovered the one thing I forgot to back up--my browser bookmarks. Fortunately, the bookmarks on my laptop are nearly identical, so I can steal a copy from there.
Anyway, on with the show.

Heroes Ep: Cold Snap

Heroes Ep: Exposed
Mar. 3rd, 2009 09:29 pmThe Rorschach profile for The Watchmen was awesome. He was the character I was most worried about making the transition to the big screen because he's so dark and because he's always been my favorite. But judging by the profile, the movie isn't sugarcoating him at all and the casting was dead on. I just hope the prison cafeteria scene makes it into the movie.

Heroes Ep: Cold Wars
Feb. 25th, 2009 06:56 pmI can't believe I forgot to post about Heroes. I've been sick since Friday, and for some reason my brain always flies out the window when I'm sick and I turn into a disorganized mess. I forgot to return a library book too, and I'm a librarian--I work at the freaking library. ::headdesk::

Heroes Ep: Building 26
Feb. 17th, 2009 08:38 pmIf there's any indication that this volume has been better than the last two so far, it's that Peter was only in this episode for about five seconds and it still kept my interest.

Heroes Ep: Trust and Blood
Feb. 10th, 2009 08:04 pmThis show is getting harder and harder to meta, what with the way they reboot canon at the start of every new volume. Continuity went flying out the window ages ago. Fortunately, the Petrellis continue to leave me in awe with their epic dysfunction.

Heroes Ep: A Clear and Present Danger
Feb. 4th, 2009 09:09 pmI've been trying to post my Heroes blather all week, but I've spent the last 3 days in a work-related seminar listening to the same woman drone Powerpoint slides at me verbatim for 7 hours a day. By the time I got home each night, my brain was so fried that I couldn't even read, let alone write. But the seminar ended early today, and I was so excited to be done with it that I couldn't get home fast enough. Let the blathering commence.

Not Helping Your Case
Nov. 23rd, 2008 02:21 pm"It's a very flawed way of telling stories on network television right now, because of the advent of the DVR and online streaming. The engine that drove [serialized TV] was you had to be in front of the TV [when it aired]. Now you can watch it when you want, where you want, how you want to watch it, and almost all of those ways are superior to watching it on air. So [watching it] on air is relegated to the saps and the dipshits who can't figure out how to watch it in a superior way."
--Tim Kring
Dear Mr. Kring,
I can figure out how to watch it in a superior way. I just can't afford to. Feel free to drop a donation into my Upgrade to Broadband Someday fund.
No love,
Sandy (no, the other one)

Heroes Ep: Villains
Nov. 11th, 2008 08:07 pmI don't know if I hate Heroes as much as everyone else seems to these days, but I totally agree that it's currently nowhere near as good as it was in season 1. So I'm a little annoyed and disappointed at the revisionist history on offer this season that changes what we thought we knew from that first season.

Heroes Ep: Eris Quod Sum
Oct. 29th, 2008 07:39 pmI'm rapidly losing patience with this series. They keep bringing up more and more questions without answering the ones that are already there. Speculating isn't as much fun as it used to be because the places the plots hint that they're going to go are now more interesting than the places they actually go. I used to sit patiently and wait for the awesome payoff. Now, I have no faith that there actually will be a payoff and I sit on my couch making 'get on with it' gestures. This is the difference between having a long-range plan (like Babylon 5 and Supernatural) and making it up as you go along (like The X-Files and Lost).
And now that I've depressed everybody, my thoughts on this week's episode:

Heroes Ep: Dying of the Light
Oct. 21st, 2008 08:33 pmI think I'm going to do my Heroes posts on Tuesdays from now on. Watching My Own Worst Enemy keeps me busy until bedtime on Monday nights, and I'm too much of a zombie on Tuesday mornings when I stay up late posting to my LJ.
