And it's about time, too.

This episode reminded me of something that's been subconsciously bothering me, and without realizing it is part of why I've been losing patience with the show. I've suspected for awhile now that the Heroes vs. Villains storyline was really going to be Primatech vs. Pinehearst, and I was really glad to see the characters choosing sides and banding together at the end of the episode. Because honestly? I thought that was going to happen by the middle of season 1. Not that I knew anything about Pinehearst back then, but I really thought season 1 was going to be about characters coming together in factions to work with or against each other. I'm pleased to see it finally happening, but I also feel like I've been waiting two years to see it.

I'm very disappointed that Hiro has amnesia now. Didn't we have enough of that with Peter last season? And isn't Hiro enough of an innocent and endearing dork on his own without making him ten years old?

I'm glad the show is getting over the Sylar hunger thing. Apparently, empathy can overcome the need, which means if Peter ever gets his powers back, he should be okay.

I kind of hope Peter doesn't get his powers back, though, at least for a little while. Being powerless seems to have activated his smarty brains for the first time in ages.

I'm glad Nathan didn't fall for Arthur's, "Come and give your dad a hug," ploy like Peter did. Then again, Nathan is more cynical and less trusting than Peter.

Arthur is a lying liar who lies. Suddenly Nathan is his favorite son? Wasn't Sylar his favorite son about five minutes ago? And hasn't he always been disappointed in Nathan for being born without powers and having to get an artificially implanted one? Despite what Nathan said, I have a really hard time picturing Arthur ever taking Peter and Nathan fishing. I wonder if he liked them more as kids, because they only seem to be chess pieces to him as adults.

Now that Peter, Nathan, and Angela are all conscious at the same time and have chosen the same side of the upcoming fight, here's hoping for more dysfunctional Petrelli goodness. Don't ask me why, but I got the warm fuzzies when Angela said, "Peter and I have both seen the future." Not your typical mother and son bonding activity, but then the Petrellis aren't your typical family, either.
