Fact Checking: Ur Doing It Rong
Sep. 5th, 2009 09:31 amI was just watching Mega Disasters on the History Channel and one of the scientists was talking about the tsunami in Lituya Bay, Alaska, in 1958 being taller than the Sears Tower. Then they showed footage of the Hancock Building. ::facepalm::

May. 23rd, 2009 08:17 pmToday started way too early in the morning with a 9:00 a.m. panel on how we fans would improve the SciFi Channel if it were up to us. Obviously, it was not a business-oriented panel so our ideas may not be money-makers, but we would definitely like to see more actual sci fi programming on the SciFi Channel instead of wrestling or Z-grade monster movies like Mansquito. People also thought it was kind of sad that most of the innovative science fiction programming airing right now is not on the one station that specializes in science fiction.

2008 Fic Bloopers
May. 29th, 2008 08:42 pmThis is a slow year. Being on LJ has been very bad for my fic blooper collection. Certainly, no one on LJ is perfect, but the bloopers here just aren't as plentiful or hilarious as they are on FF.net.
These bloopers come from both online fic and printed zines in a multitude of fandoms (I read a lot). Titles and authors are not included. This isn't done with the intent to be malicious. Think of it as TV's Censored Bloopers for fic.
He shuddered as John pulled the boots onto his feet that Rodney proffered.
She did everything she could think of to get his temperature down: she turned the air conditioner up all the way along with a fan blowing directly at him, and she brought him a picture of ice water.
The fruits they found growing nearby were so sweet that they had gouged themselves on its flesh.
His hand brushed over the paper plane sitting on his desk that he made four days ago.

Jun. 2nd, 2007 08:24 pmThere's a grammar panel at MediaWest every year that includes a Bring Your Own Fic Bloopers segment. I've been collecting bloopers for it for years, but the panel wasn't held this year. I have homeless fic bloopers...until now.
These bloopers come from both online fic and printed zines in a multitude of fandoms (I read a lot), with an occasional side trip into non-fandom bloopers. Titles and authors are not included. This isn't done with the intent to be malicious. Sometimes the typing finger slips, and the results can be pretty funny. Think of it as TV's Censored Bloopers for fic.
Here's hoping I did the cut thing right.
