I suppose at this early stage in my blogging career, I should warn all two of my readers that I'm a fandom ho'. I've followed a whole lot of fandoms since my first con in 1984. Sooner or later, I'm bound to discuss yours. I'm also bifictional, so discussions will include both slash and gen fandoms (never did find a het ship that sent me anywhere).
I spend a lot of time puttering around in Stargate Atlantis and Supernatural fandoms these days, but today's discussion will involve my first ever slash fandom, Due South.
There have been a lot of first time stories posted lately in the tiny little corner of dS fandom that I still keep track of. I read quite a few of them but ultimately came away unsatisfied, even though a number of them were reasonably well written. I used to love first time fics, so it took me awhile to figure out what the problem was.
