Whatever happened to 'show, don't tell'?
So. Much. Monologuing. I swear there was 10 minutes of plot padded out with all the exposition ever. Kate's endless tale of everything she did from the last time she appeared in an episode until now felt like toddler storytime at the library.
Speaking of Kate, I'm glad they stuck a few frames of flashback in there, because the big reveal with dramatic music was totally ruined by the fact that I didn't recognize her until Show reminded me of the spectacularly unmemorable episode she appeared in.
And it still irritates the crap out of me every time they do an episode with well-adjusted, in-control werewolves, because that means Sam didn't have to kill Madison.
Meanwhile, the Winchesters were in 'Mayday! Deflect! Deflect!' mode. 'Umm, no I don't need to talk, bro, let's talk about you and what you need/did instead.'
And poor Sammy ended up with a temporary flattop because I didn't have time to give him more hair.

The writers have no idea how to handle his character, and it's ruining him. I will keep watching, but I think the pain I'm putting myself through now is different than the pain of seasons 1-5.
I don't understand. I know there are good shows on the CW right now. What happened to spn? Did it become too mainstream?
