You know what would be awesome? If John's team all went on a mission together. I would watch that show.
Unfortunately, the highlight of this episode for me was John getting glass pulled out of his back. Yes, I am that shallow.
Who was the medical person treating John? Was she a doctor or a nurse? Because if she's a doctor, I nominate her to replace Keller as CMO. She was calm and decisive in a crisis and she had her full attention on her patients. Keller spends too much time staring wide-eyed at her patients while pondering just how injured or ill they are and not actually doing anything.
Speaking of Keller, what is it about scientists on this show that makes them think they're better military tacticians than the trained and experienced military personnel they work with? Honestly, do the soldiers turn up in the OR and tell the doctors where to place their clamps?
And yay for the end of the love triangle. Ronon didn't look terribly broken up when Keller said she liked someone else. I'd suspected that he wasn't really interested in her like that but was just yanking Rodney's chain.
I loved the scene where Rodney was choreographing his and Daniel's escape from the holding cell. He kept firing off a step in the plan and then waiting for Daniel to return the volley, but Daniel just kept asking him what was next. Poor Rodney is just too used to John bouncing plans back at him.
I'm so not sorry that Larrin wasn't able to make it. I don't like the character or the actress. I liked this set of Travelers much better.
I am sorry that the blown up gateroom and stargate were dealt with so easily 'cause they just happened to have another stargate lying around from the old bridge network. I would've liked for it to have taken an episode or two to clean up from the massive damage caused by the explosion.
Oh, well. Can John's team go off-world together now, please? Just the four of them with no hangers-on?

Date: 2008-10-11 04:10 am (UTC)From:Shirtless Sheppard was the best part of the episode for me (yep, I'm as shallow as you!). Although it was closely followed by whumped!Zelenka and Zelenka helping the Travelers' engineer.
Were you surprised by the Evil Asgard? I so wish I hadn't been spoiled. It would have been another awesome moment.

Date: 2008-10-11 03:33 pm (UTC)From:I knew "The Lost Tribe" was a clue about who was in the armor, but I was hoping it was a really lost tribe, as in one we'd heard of but hadn't already met before, like the Furlings. Isn't it about freaking time we got to meet the Furlings?

Date: 2008-10-11 08:18 pm (UTC)From:Ditto. The humans didn't know what the Asgard were about to do until they got there, so why could no one have just said "General O'Neill wanted to be here but he was busy saving the world" or something similar? Have not O'Neill and Thor been best buds for years? I understand about time restraints and actor availability, but seriously... Do they not understand that science fiction fans are not the usual brain-dead tv viewer and are going to notice something like that?
