i. My username isthe_other_sandy because that's the name I've been going by in fandom since 1998 or so. It started with the first Yahoo!Group I joined. There was already a Sandy there and the first time I participated in a thread, people got confused about which one of us they were quoting/replying to. I started signing my posts 'The other Sandy' as a joke, and the name stuck.
ii. My journal is titled "Dr. Terror's House of Pancakes" because I'm a fan of the Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing Hammer horror films. I liked Dr. Terror's House of Horrors and was discussing it with a fellow movie buff friend who told me that SCTV had done a parody of it called "Dr. Terror's House of Pancakes." I laughed so hard I hurt myself. I don't know if the SCTV part is true, but I loved the name.
iii. My subtitle is "Fen Welcome -- Please Seat Yourself" because my LJ is mainly fannish in nature (not that it looks that way now, what with all my shows being on hiatus) and it kind of went with the pancake house aspect of my LJ title.
iv. My friends page is called "Lab Assistants" because what would an evil scientist be without a hunchbacked lab assistant? Okay, and because I was too lame to think of anything better.
v. My default userpic is Okita Souji from Peacemaker Kurogane because (a) I like Peacemaker Kurogane, (b) Souji was my favorite character in Peacemaker Kurogane, (c) I just love the expression on his face, and (d) the colors in this icon go really well with the colors in my LJ theme. I've been contemplating changing my default icon to one of the Yomiko Readman ones from R.O.D., but so far I haven't been able to say no to Souji.
