Apparently, Eureka isn't complete unless it has a character that annoys the crap out of me.
In season one, it was Zoe. I nearly stopped watching the show because I hated her so much. In season two, it was Allison (who I'd liked in season one) and Kevin. They managed to have three facial expressions between them all season in a plotline that was supposed to involve life and death peril for them. This season, I actually like Zoe, and Allison is back to having a personality, so naturally this is a cue for the show to bring in a new recurring character to irritate me, now that the existing characters are falling down on the job. Sheriff Carter's sister Lexi is more a whole bunch of New Age stereotypes rolled into one than an actual character. She's also one of those people who's so convinced that there's a right way and a wrong way to live your life, and that your way is the wrong way, that she must save you from yourself by micromanaging your life without consulting you. Maybe people on TV are way more tolerant than people in real life, or maybe it's just me who doesn't play well with others, but if a guest in my home rearranged my furniture or cleared out my fridge and replaced the contents with food I don't like without asking me first, they'd be given directions to a nice hotel. If I were in a good mood, I might even pop for cab fare.
The main plot tonight really didn't send me. I need more than technobabble to maintain an interest in the story, and putting Fargo's life in jeopardy wasn't enough. Sorry, Fargo, but I'm not that invested in whether you live or die.
I still miss Nathan, but on the plus side, not having Nathan around for the science stuff has given Henry more to do again. Unfortunately, Henry seems to have had enough of Eva and whatever she's up to, so Eva is now going to Zane for help. That means that Henry and Jack no longer have an inside track on what she's doing. Any bets on whether Eva's husband's death is tied to the bomb test and those areas she's surveying?
