Well, crap. I want a do-over, too.

Excuse me while I paraphrase South Park: They killed Nathan! Those bastards! I guess this explains what Ed Quinn was doing in that car commercial.

It does make a certain amount of sense from the show's standpoint to get rid of Nathan. Global Dynamics was getting a little top heavy with administrators, and Eva Thorne is going to have a big role by virtue of being this season's antagonist. I'm still going to miss the chemistry between Ed Quinn and Colin Ferguson, though. Who is Jack going to have snarkfests with now?

The episode itself was really well done. It started out as a standard sci fi time loop episode, then slowly built in unexpected ways. The time loop phenomenon went from a humorous inconvenience to something more sinister when it turned out to be deliberate instead of an unintended consequence. Eventually, it threatened the existence of Eureka itself, and two people died trying to stop it. It was interesting how the same things people said in each loop took on different meanings as Jack's circumstances changed.

It also became apparent that this season's through plot involves whatever Eva is doing in that irradiated field, which I assume is the area where the bomb in the archival film was detonated. She's certainly interested in the area, and not for developing into a resort/spa. However, Henry now knows something is up due to the scans he did for Eva, and Jack knows something is up because he caught Eva scanning the rock there while everyone else was at the wedding, but Eva doesn't know that Jack saw her doing the scans because time looped again and she doesn't remember events that didn't occur for her. I wonder what she thinks is down there under the ground? Hopefully, we'll find out by the end of the season.
