Wow. That was...talky.
I actually liked the story in tonight's ep, but in a way, that was also the problem I had with it. I felt like I was being told a story. The ten minutes of infodump from the disembodied Elizabeth Weir didn't help. I would like to have been shown more of the story, instead of told it.
This must've been the episode Torri Higginson declined to come back for. Nice cover for her absence by using the actress who played Fran.
The visual of the thrusters realigning the space gate after the jumper hit it was a nice little detail, as was the bad typing correcting itself on the laptop screen as RepliWeir tried to communicate with Atlantis.
Woolsey showed more backbone than I thought he was capable of in the standoff with the Replicators. I especially liked his body language showing that he wasn't 100% sure he was doing the right thing, but sticking to his guns anyway.
The ending was painful, but in a good way. I knew something was up when the Replicators went through the gate. I first thought they were going to splat into a shield on the other side or gate into lava or something, but then RepliWeir transmitted from the other side. It was amazing how everyone managed to maintain the charade, including RepliWeir who was already floating in space when she reassured the other Replicators that it was safe to go through. I have a feeling we'll be seeing at least one of them again in the future.
