Tonight was Joe Flanigan's first appearance as FBI Special Agent John Ashe (spelling taken from TVIV.org). He plays another John! I won't need a new icon or anything. Anyway, I was all set to blog my review of his performance, but he was only in the last 20 seconds or so of the episode. Bummer. He really rocked that 20 seconds, though. 8-P

He's playing a recurring character, so I guess I'll get my fill of the Flan in later episodes. Fortunately, I happen to like this show (it's the only new fall series I tried that I stuck with), so it won't exactly be torture watching Joe here like it was watching him on CSI: Miami.

Ah, banging my head on keyboard as my crab flick dind't record last night. ARGH! HOpefully another friend recorded it and I can get a copy. Found out Amazon has it but don't want to spend $25 for what should be a $5 movie...

Sometimes DVD prices boggle my mind. I got Nick Knight, the original Forever Knight pilot, for $6.99. I got The Hunt for Red October, one of my favorite movies ever, for $14.99. When I tried to get The Conqueror for my stepfather for Christmas last year, it was $45! The Conqueror! Seriously, have you seen John Wayne play Genghis Khan? Listening to him spout lines like, "Thou art beautiful in thy wrath, tartar woman," is enough to make you snort beverages out your nose. That is not a $45 movie, not even for John Wayne.

I think anything that was in public domain is up for grabs, and hence, astronomical prices. Old B&W horror/scifi flicks from the 50s can be either cheap or deadly expensive. No rhyme or reason.

You'd think the public domain flicks would be the cheapest because the publisher doesn't have to pay for the rights.

Probably pricier cuz they can charge what they want, and the overhead is higher due to limited release. I mean, really, how many people want Attack of the Crab Monsters in their DVD collection, well, besides me? ;)
