Okay, that was just grossly unfair.
I will be highly irritated if Nathan dies after I sat through half a season waiting for him to reunite with Peter.
Matt and Nathan were hilarious together as usual, especially their joint agreement to never mention the flying thing again.
I just love watching Peter get his badass on. Milo Ventimiglia does such a great job of conveying Peter's powers via body language. I kind of wish we got to see more of that, but then he wouldn't be Peter if we did. Still, Peter electrocuting Hiro with his own sword was cool, as was Peter's whole battle with Hiro. It made sense that Nathan was the only one who could shake Peter's faith in his friend Adam and get Peter's head screwed on straight in time to destroy the virus. And it looked like Peter had good control over Ted's ability this time around. When Peter incinerated the vial, the godsend symbol appeared briefly in the ashes as he poured them out of his hand.
After half a season, Peter and Nathan were finally back together. Yay! I got the "Italian" moment I was hoping for (actually, I got two!), plus the hug I've been waiting for all season. Then the cliffhanger had to go and ruin it for me. I now have two questions: (1) Will Adam's blood still protect Nathan, or does it only work for a finite amount of time?, and (2) Will Peter ever get Caitlin back from the future? The future may be safe from killer virus plagues, but I'm willing to bet that Caitlin would like to come home. Eek! But if Caitlin was trapped in a future that no longer exists, does that mean she no longer exists, too? Eek!
Speaking of 'eek!,' Hiro, you are far more sadistic than I would've given you credit for. But I like it. Adam can't die, so he gets to spend eternity buried alive in the coffin of the man he killed. If he ever gets out of there, he'll be mad as a march hare.
And speaking of people who are mad as a march hare, Sylar was clearly done pretending to be anything but a psycho killer (qu'est-ce que c'est). Maya finally realized the enormity of her idiocy. I'd been thinking she was just as nuts as Sylar, but no, she apparently really is that gullible. In a way, I'm sorry she's not dead, but on the other hand, if both she and Alejandro died, that would make their entire plotline the most enormous waste of time in TV history. But at least Sylar has his powers back and can get on with being his regular evil self. Hopefully, this will lead to a confrontation with Badass!Peter at some point.
Wow, Angela was cold tonight. First she ordered Matt to kill Peter if he was a problem, then she told someone on the phone that she understood the necessity of assassinating Nathan. Thank you, mommie dearest.
I can't believe Noah would keep boxes and boxes of secret Company documents at his house where anyone could find them. But I loved how proud he looked when Bob told him that Claire was becoming "difficult."
Niki did a great job rescuing Monica, and without Jessica's help. It would be a shame if the writers only made her strong at the end so that we'd feel something when she died.
So, I'm glad Monica's not dead. I wish Maya was. I sincerely hope Nathan's not. I have mixed feelings about Niki. The Sanders family storyline has been one of my least favorites, but I like Ali Larter and the character of Niki had so much potential.
We'll see what volume three has to say for itself, strike permitting.
