Remember last week when the northeast corner of the first floor looked like this?

When I left work yesterday, it looked more like this:

What you can't see in this photo is the caution tape I'm standing behind. There's a path marked with caution tape (and spray paint on the floor) from the back door to the elevator on the first floor, and from the elevator to our office space on the second floor, marking a theoretical "safe zone" we can walk through so we can still accept deliveries. It's not hugely safe. When I brought up a box from UPS this afternoon, there was a Bobcat driving around the second floor shoving debris into a corner. Another construction guy waved down the Bobcat driver to stop him, then met me at the elevator and walked ahead of me to kick debris out of my path all the way to the office. Still, at least we have an office. Here's what the Circulation Department looked like yesterday:

That open space with two piles of debris and a Bobcat in it used to be an office, a workroom, and a sorting room, separated from the check-out desks by a wall.
Actually, it all looked much tidier today, since the Bobcats spent the day clearing up the rubble. Now we just have to try not to accidentally strangle ourselves on the wires dangling from the ceiling.
Yes, we're going to be working here for at least another week and a half.
