This magnet-making thing is addictive. I’m going to have to fight off the temptation to keep going though (I have a pile of little patterns that would make cute magnets and a boring metal bookshelf at work I’m tired of looking at), because I’ve been ignoring the big project I’ve been working on that I really want to finish.

Pattern by Starrley. I didn’t make any changes to it, but if I had to do it over again, I think I’d go one shade lighter on the dark grey.

That is awesome!!! And it's wonderful to do these little projects as well - it gives you a sense of accomplishment and some inspiration to work on the big ones.

It's done the opposite for me. I just keep wanting to make little things now so I can have that semi-instant gratification of having finished something, as opposed to the other project that I've been working on for months. Recently, anyway--I originally started it about 10 years ago, then stuck it in my closet and forgot about it.

I have something like four other projects that are even older, two of which I'm probably going to have to scrap. I've gotten so much better at cross stitching since I started them that it'll be obvious which stitches I did then and which I do now. And they were so far along, too.
