Holy crap! Here's an icon I never thought I'd be able to use again. You know, I started this season unconvinced I'd still be watching it at the end, but right now I'm more excited about the show than I have been in a long time. There are so many things to resolve next season now.

Metatron certainly turned out to be cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, didn't he? Did he take Castiel's memory along with his grace? That would suck. He wouldn't know to make his way to the bunker, and Sam and Dean would have no idea where to look for him. I'm not sure how interested I am in seeing Castiel fall because we've seen that before, but that scene of all the other angels falling was awesome.

And what's going to happen to Crowley? He was very nearly at the end of his cure, but it wasn't complete. Will he revert to his usual self? Partially revert? How long will it take? Will he ally himself with the Winchesters again now that Abaddon is trying to take over hell? And did anybody else suddenly start hearing "I Wanna Be Adored" by The Stone Roses playing in their head when Crowley started crying that he just wanted to be loved? Or am I the only one who spent too much time watching PostModern MTV in college?

I had a feeling Sam wasn't going to be able to complete the trials. Sealing up hell just sounded like too big a thing to do in any but the very last episode of the series. At least this time Sam didn't fail due to any personal screw-up on his part; Dean just refused to let him die. Although I suspect Sam's health isn't going to recover immediately. He still wasn't looking so hot at the end there.

The broment at the end was something I've wanted to have happen for a long time. I just wish Dean's lines had gone a little differently, because to me it sounded like, 'I know I've spent the last four years telling you you're an untrustworthy loser who always fails me, but I didn't mean to make you feel like an untrustworthy loser who always fails me!' I would like for Dean to have owned up to what he's said in the past while admitting he's moved past it now. But I did like that Sam finally poured his heart out about everything he's been repressing for years. Sam has a reputation for being the one who always wants to talk about feelings, but in reality he's always trying to get Dean to talk about his feelings and we rarely get a look at what's going on in Sam's head. And of course both Jensen and Jared knocked that scene out of the park.

I'm actually looking forward to a new season as something other than a chore for the first time in years.

I also loved Kevin's demand of "Stop using sports metaphors at me because I don't get them!" while Dean's utterly clueless by Kevin's references.

Ooh, Kevin and Charlie can geek out together in the batcave!

They'd be cute together, plus they'd make Dean feel really old, which amuses me.
