Nice role-reversal show!
I really liked Steve having to be the one to comfort and take care of a scared little kid, while Danny was the one having to track down SuperSEAL in the jungle and save him. The only thing that would have made it better was if Steve and Danny hugged when they found each other, but I guess I'll just have to settle for copious amounts of manly shoulder clapping.
When Steve was telling Ron all about how his wound was a breeding ground for bacteria, was I the only one thinking 'oh, please let Danny's wound be a breeding ground for bacteria'? C'mon, somebody's got to write that fic.
It was nice that Danny had enough faith in Steve to suggest that Steve teach survival skills to Danny's daughter and her fellow Aloha Girls, but I can't believe Danny forgot to set boundaries before they left. Of course Steve is going to think knife throwing and wild pig gutting are appropriate skills to teach 10 year old girls.
Actually, I wouldn't have minded if my girl scout troop did that when I was a kid. My troop did far too much ceramics and macramé for my taste. The most exciting thing that ever happened to me while camping in my scouting career was the time the tornado siren went off in the middle of the night and the leaders evacuated everyone to the tornado shelter except me. I woke up in the dark, by myself, in one of only two tents left standing. It was kind of like a horror movie where you're the only person left in the world. Fortunately, no one was hurt, including me, but I was really pissed that they left me behind.
I wasn't squeeing and flailing for the whole episode, though. I know love is blind, but Kono is being exceptionally naive if she thinks the FBI taking surveillance photos of her getting all huggy with a yakuza boss and his ex-con brother aren't going to have a negative impact on her career. I'm just waiting for Internal Affairs to get involved. And Kono knows that Adam's big reorg of the family business isn't going down well with the old guard or with Michael. How long before someone tries to assassinate Adam? And what does she think is going to happen to her if she's right next to him? Even if the shooter doesn't aim for her (and said shooter would likely have no great love for cops, so there's no reason why he wouldn't), bullets that hit you by accident are just as fatal as bullets that hit you on purpose. It's only a matter of time before somebody tries a takeover, and Michael for one is clearly not on board with this real job thing. Sadly, I will have no sympathy for Kono when it happens because there's no way she shouldn't have seen it coming.

You are in control of that firearm at all times. If it is not secured on your person. It is unloaded and LOCKED up. Danny better chew Chin out for not BEATING that rule in to her and then bitch slap Kono back to the Academy for another firearms course.

I was hoping for a hug too but I fear we've had our allotment until the second last episode.
Yeah, yeah, we're technically ahead one hug this season already. A girl can dream, can't she?
BTW if you were a cop would you leave your gun laying on a table with a violent ex-con in the house?
Hell, no. And my bedroom door would have been closed and locked too.

(Yes, I'm just getting around to watching this episode. It's been a busy week.)
