So you know how we all looked at the plot synopsis for tonight's episode and thought it sounded like a fan fic? We were wrong.
Between the heart-to-hearts, boatjacking, being stranded in the middle of the ocean on a sinking dinghy, shark attack, Danny having lost his best friend to drowning in the ocean, and Steve and Danny being accused of a crime they didn't commit and arrested, it was more like half a dozen fan fics. Lenkov must be trying to butter us up for something.
And hey, Danny finally figured out how to get Steve to talk about his feelings--take him 40 miles offshore in a boat and then corner him while he can't get away.
Steve thinks Catherine isn't his girlfriend, they just have a "thing"? Does Catherine know that? 'Cause she was certainly acting like she thought she was his girlfriend, and with much more reason than Lori ever had. I was totally with Danny when he called shenanigans. And yet Steve looked so disappointed when Danny said he'd never go fishing with Steve again. It's not too late for you, Danny. You may still have a shot. ::polishes slash goggles::
Hey, Chin? You don't need to apologize to Kono for pointing out what a bad idea it is to date a member of the yakuza, because she's dating a member of the yakuza and that's a bad idea. Even if Adam doesn't kill her, another member of the yakuza might, or they may just ask her for privileged information in a way she can't refuse, and then where will she be? She knows she's a cop, and she knows who and what her boyfriend is. She should not be terribly surprised when her fellow cop partners bring up this serious and repeated lack of judgment.
And was it just me, or did this episode hit critical mass for number of actors who have previously guest starred on Supernatural? I suppose it gave Todd Stashwick, Julie McNiven, and Michelle Borth something to talk about in their down time.
ETA: I just finally noticed from
eumelia's post that this episode was directed by Steve Boyum, who has also directed seven episodes of Supernatural. One of my shows is taking over one of my other shows!

He's totally skittish.), but I hope that if they're going to go the "she's the love interest" route gung ho that Catherine has a conversation with Steve.

Date: 2012-10-09 08:29 pm (UTC)From:Totally agree, Kono+Chin and Danny/Steve this week was fabulous. And they even had a marginally believable case plot (except, ya know finding a floating crime scene like, forty miles out in open water and all.) that kept the pace and made the team work the works. Me likey!

1. when did Catherine become part of 5-0?
2. and i would like to think that if (god forbid) i ever had a cop come to my house to deliver BAD NEWS that they would not be wearing a tank top.
I find that i enjoy this community more and more as i watch the show. I tend to lurk and never comment but really appreciate all the reviews and tidbits that people provide
