Hey, I remember this show!

Teaminess! Banter! Ohana! Carguments! "Book 'em, Danno!" Stunt casting of celebrities from other fields who can't actually act! I used to watch a show just like this last season and it was awesome.

I've missed the interaction between the Fab Four so much. Kono wants Danny to be happy. Chin wants to give Danny relationship advice. Steve wants Danny to clean his house. And in amongst all the glorious teaminess, there was still room for Max, Mamo, Kamekona, Grace, and Gaby. We even got the dog back! Okay, so it was off-camera, but still.

This is probably the most screen time Steve and Danny have had together in one episode all season. Why TPTB wanted to waste that screen chemistry I will never know. And was it a coincidence that this episode is probably the most consistently happy Steve has been all season? He was amused by Danny's rants, relationship with Gaby, and swimming (Danny swims!), and he was thrilled to use the tear gas he apparently keeps in Danny's car now. He even spread the love to the rest of the team during dinner, and he got to butt into Danny's personal life some more. Best line?

Danny: "I'm happy when I'm not around you."

Steve: "That is also a lie. You love me."

It was the off-hand way Steve said it, like there was never any doubt, that made me squee in a range only endangered marine animals could hear. I also loved this exchange:

Sgt. Lukela: "What is he doing?"

Danny: "Undoubtedly something insane. You might want to pull your guys off the house."

It was the casual way Danny said it coupled with the panicked way all the other cops bugged out that sent me to my happy fangirl place. I haven't smiled this much since Steve and Danny watched Enemy Mine.

Dear Show,

More of this please. Lots more.

Much love,

Sandy (no, the other one)

This was definitely the most fun I've had watching all season. It felt so good to see Steve and Danny actually working together. The carguments were awesome, and also loved when Steve said "you love me".

I have been watching my DVDs from season 1 and as I was watching, I realized how much this season was so different, and not in a good way. I missed the team from season 1, and tonight brought them back - hopefully for good.

Last season was so much fun, but this season TPTB seemed to decide that the show was a Serious Drama. The main characters smiled more in this one episode than they have in the entire rest of the season combined, and I loved it.

It made me so happy watching tonight. I think I had a big smile on my face the whole time...I felt like Steve. I loved it too.

Yes yes and YES. I think we nearly quoted each other a few times here. I can't stop grinning. Best ep of the season hands down and the 'you love me' thing was the icing on the cake. You got it exactly right - its the way he said it and the way Danny was so off hand about Steve and the tear gas. And Steve being so happy! Awesome. I want to watch it again and again...and I probably will. =)

Yep, we pretty much latched onto the same things, but they were awesome things, so how could we not?

I so agree -- this was the most like last season of any ep this year.

Danny is so used to Steve pulling something 'insane' that he just stands back to watch in amusement. I also loved that he told the cop to get his men off the house!

Dramatic eps with angst for Danny and or Steve are fine but it's good to see them happy for a change so we can all be happy too!

I not only loved Danny telling Sgt. Lukela to get his men off the house, but the way the other cops took off running like they were expecting explosions and shrapnel because it was Steve.

Yay!! I swear, they stuffed all the bromance and teaminess that was missing so far this season into one episode. Epic swoons for happy, smiling Steve and Danny!

It's ridiculous how different this episode was from the rest of the season. There have been episodes I've liked this season, but none of them have been as much fun as they were last season until now.

Yeah, I like angst and drama, but not when it takes all of the fun out of a show. It's good to see H50 get the spark back.

Also, I forgot to mention earlier that it was very thoughtful of Steve to pack an extra gas mask for Danny when he put the tear gas stuff in his trunk.

Steve is a very good boyfriend. He probably packed a gas mask for Grace too, just in case.
