For the last two years I've been challenging myself to read as many books as I can in order to make a dent in the giant piles of unread books I own. This has had the unintended consequence of making me avoid the larger books in the pile because they take longer to read, so I've decided to go for page count instead of book count and am challenging myself to read 10,000 pages this year.
My secondary challenge is to watch at least one DVD per week to make a dent in the giant pile of unwatched DVDs. This sounds like an easy challenge, but most of my DVDs are for TV series, so I have to watch anywhere from four to six episodes (sometimes twice if they have commentary tracks) before I can be done with one DVD. It would be so much easier of they were all 90 minute movies.
Wish me luck.
