I swear these episodes are cursed. First they were preempted by baseball, then they were preempted several times by weather updates due to the tornado warnings in the area (near as I can tell, any tornadoes passed well north of me). Right now I'm between lines of thunderstorms and hoping to finish typing this before the next line hits. It's not safe to use a corded keyboard when there's lightning about. Anyway, I'll need to watch at least the beginning of "Let It Bleed" again to see what plot points I missed due to the live updates from the WGN Weather Center.
I'm not sure how much wiping Ben and Lisa's memories is going to help. They weren't kidnapped because Dean was important to them, they were kidnapped because they were important to Dean. Dean still remembers them, and they're still important to him, so they can still be used against him even if they have no idea who Dean is.
It still amazes me that not one single character has mentioned the strong parallel between Castiel's character arc this season and Sam's in season 4. Will Castiel get the chance to redeem himself next season like Sam did, or has he gone so far off the reservation that he's in Big Bad territory now and has to be destroyed?
The splintered Sams might have been more dramatic for me if I hadn't been having flashbacks to the splintered Ashes in Army of Darkness. I kept waiting for Soulless!Sam to start sing-songing "little goody two-shoes" and beating up Amnesiac!Sam.
Seeing Soulless!Sam again reminded me how ridiculously hot ÜberBadass!Sam is. That's the only part of Soulless!Sam I miss.
And I keep wondering how Sam was really doing. He looked like he was barely holding himself together outside. He even walked like three different people were trying to operate his body at the same time. I'm dying to know if integrating all his memories from hell and his soulless year is really going to be an issue for Sam next season, or if he'll be magically cured five seconds into the season opener.
Castiel pronouncing himself God was kind of distracting. ;-) That was an evil, evil cliffhanger.
This season finale felt more like a run-up to a season finale for some reason. I know the cliffhanger was to keep us anticipating the season 7 opener, but this season just feels like it needs one more episode to me.
Off to finally read what everyone else thought.

Date: 2011-05-23 04:30 am (UTC)From:I agree about how abruptly the finale ended, but I'm definitely coming back next season. *g* Sam might be discombobulated for a while or might be healed by God Castiel if Bobby and the Winchesters are sufficiently "Uhm, that was a good thing you did
sending them into the cornfield, a good thing. All hail!"no subject

Date: 2011-05-23 04:53 am (UTC)From:Cas is definitely a Winchester in demanding that they trust him after he lied to them for over a year, brought Sam back and didn't tell Dean, brought Sam back soulless and told Dean that trying to get his soul back would only end in Sam's horrific agony and how could Dean even think of doing that to his own brother, knew of and helped Crowley's evil plans, etc. etc. And that's just what they know of Cas' deeds. I wouldn't trust Cas either.
