So, you know how I said I wasn't going to be able to attend the con because I was sick? Well, Creation never got back to me about what would happen to my unused ticket, and several people told me that in their experience Creation would not give me a refund or exchange my ticket, so I skipped the first half of the con to sleep and ply myself with cold meds, and then my germs and I attended the second half of the con. Deepest apologies to anyone I gave the plague to. I would've stayed home if I could've gotten reimbursed somehow.
For those of you who have read my con reports before, this will not be one of my obsessively detailed ones. For one thing, I'm still sick. For another thing, Supernatural fandom exhaustively documents fandom goings on like no other fandom I've ever been in. I have no doubt that the entire con will be up on YouTube by the time I finish typing this.
That said, there won't be a Friday report (well, there was, but it was just me whining about being sick and not attending the con). Fortunately, I didn't miss much. I love Richard Speight, but I've seen him before. I'm not interested in Jason Manns, and Matt Cohen was doing a second panel today.
The first two guests of the day were Fredric Lehne and Aldis Hodge. I've seen them both before, so I skipped them in favor of some extra sleep and another dose of cold meds. The first panel I attended was for Matt Cohen.
Matt Cohen
He was a much better panel guest than I thought he'd be. He was a really good storyteller and had a good sense of humor.
He likes doing stunts and special effects-type work, but he said being fitted for a full body cast was the worst experience ever. He had to hold completely still for two hours while being covered in sixty pounds of plaster with only two tiny holes by his nostrils to breathe through.
In response to a question about what role he'd like to play most and who he'd like as his co-star, Matt said he'd like to play an All-American-type character based on his dad with Jared in drag as his girlfriend. (Everybody was picking on Jared all weekend. I have a feeling he brings these things on himself. ;-) )
If you're following @mattcohen4real on Twitter, that really is him.
Asked to impersonate Jensen, he stalked to the front of the stage wearing Dean's angsty face and cried, "What is it you want from me?!" His Jared involved striking a pose, running his fingers through his hair, and saying, "I don't need to say anything--I'm Jared."
He's a total junk food junkie. He'll eat Krispie Kreme donuts until his stomach hurts. He also loves red velvet cake with vanilla frosting, which he'd apparently mentioned on Friday because a fan brought him a cupcake.
He said he hadn't watched Supernatural at all before getting cast as John Winchester, so he started out by watching all the John Winchester eps to prepare for the role. Then he wound up watching all the eps because he liked the show so much.
His guilty pleasure movie is The Notebook. He totally admitted to liking chick flicks.
A fan asked him which Greek god he'd like to be. While he was trying to think of an answer, she suggested Adonis. Matt thought he might like to be Adonis if Jared hadn't already sewn that part up.
He has a cat named Andre even though he's a dog person. He was surprised how much the cat grew on him.
Travis Wester and A.J. Buckley
They tended to talk over each other a lot and their microphones were very fuzzy, so it was hard to understand them a lot of the time.
Travis and A.J. were also asked to impersonate Jensen and Jared. Travis stood on a chair to be Jared, while A.J. ducked down lower to play Jensen.
A.J. is still amazed at how big Jared is. He told the story again about how Jared likes to pick him up and carry him around with one hand until the crew step in to stop it.
The Ghostfacers will most likely be back in some form this season, but they don't know if it'll be an episode of the TV show or the Web series. They also said that the issues holding up the Ghostfacers webisode with Castiel in it have finally been worked out and they hope to have it available soon.
A.J. said he wants to be Jared for a day so he can see what it's like to be 6'9" and be able to flip cars all day. He pantomimed going around flipping cars, then picking up a cow one handed and eating it.
Travis said that as a big brother he has a lot of experience being mean, so he really enjoys playing bad guys.
A.J. made everybody sing "Happy Birthday" to Travis because his birthday was the day before, then A.J. announced that Travis had gotten engaged.
Mark Sheppard
I've never met a British Cubs fan before. Seriously, it's hard enough being a fan of the Cubs when you're born to it. I can't imagine anyone choosing to put themselves through that misery. He said he used to own a bar in Hollywood when he first came to the States and it would just run Superstation WGN on the TV all day (and it still cracks me up that WGN is a superstation), so he became a Cubs fan watching the games at the bar.
He's actually been a Supernatural fan from the beginning. He knew Kim Manners from having worked with him before, and Mark is also a sci-fi fanboy (but not the "cheesy stuff"). He likes "smart" dramas like Battlestar Galactica and Torchwood.
His biggest starstruck moment was when he was once introduced to Peter O'Toole and O'Toole recognized him and liked one of his movies.
He hates being cooped up in his trailer. He much prefers to hang around the set and annoy people.
Like A.J., Mark was pretty impressed with how big Jared is. He called Jared "Gigantor the Talking Moose."
He likes both acting and directing. He joked that the great thing about directing is that you don't have to shave or even get dressed, but the bad thing is that you have to work with actors.
Clif Kosterman
I'm not sure why Clif was a guest. He only had a brief part on the show as Tiny in "Folsom Prison Blues." Yes, he's Jared and Jensen's bodyguard, but he's not going to dish on them if he wants to stay employed.
He started out as a driver for the show in season one (he's a Teamster), then he auditioned and got the part as Tiny, and then he finally got the job as Jared and Jensen's bodyguard because by that point they knew him and were comfortable with him.
He said that he couldn't remember anyone getting hurt doing stunts recently, but three people have broken bones in their hands during the recreational afternoon soccer games.
He doesn't have to keep Misha in line much, but he does have his hands full keeping Jared from tormenting Misha too much.
Clif used to be a PGA caddy. He plays golf with Jensen.
His daughter became a Mountie last year.
This year was kind of a weird one for questions. There were a lot of people asking the same questions over and over again, and quite a few facepalm-inducing ones. It got to the point that if someone asked an interesting and intelligent question, the whole room would make sounds of appreciation and awe.
And just when I thoughtAdam Malin Gary Berman couldn't possibly get more annoying, he found a bell from somewhere (it sounded like a bicycle bell) and used it repeatedly during the auctions.

Believe me, I feel your pain. My cataloging professor wanted me to go on to get a Ph.D, but at that point I never wanted to write another word in my entire life.
I didn't stay for Cliff's thing because um, yeah.
I'll see anyone's panel once. If I don't like it, I just won't go again.
