So, apparently Mother Nature saw me calling her names on my LJ yesterday. Not only did she withhold another severe thunderstorm despite a full day of warnings, she also tried to drown me.
It was raining pretty hard when I got home from work, but this is Illinois. If you just wait a couple of minutes, the rain will usually let up or stop altogether and you can make it inside a lot less wet than you would have otherwise. So, I waited. After about 5 minutes, the rain let up. I got out of the car, opened the trunk to get the groceries out, and the skies opened up. The entire parking lot instantly turned into a giant puddle, and I was soaked through in seconds. I was completely wringing wet by the time I got inside.
So, Mother Nature, if I apologize again, can I please have a severe thunderstorm while I'm inside where it's dry?
