I knew this show wasn't going to be awash in happy endings, but I'd really hoped that Cal surviving being shot was a good omen. Nope. He proposed to Chloe, she accepted, then Cal died protecting Chloe from Wakefield. Chloe chose to kill herself rather than let Wakefield have her. Dammit. Cal and Chloe were my favorite characters.

I was considering buying the DVD set because I liked those two so much, but I'm not sure I want to watch them die again. Out of the huge body count this show has had, they were the first two characters to die that I actually cared about.

I didn't want Cal and Chole to die either. Even though I kind of saw it coming. It was very sad. And very sweet. I knew he would do anything to protect her. And her just letting go of that bridge. Tears start to form when you think about it.

I was hoping and hoping, but as soon as Cal proposed to Chloe, I knew they were both going to die. It never occurred to me that one might die, but not the other. I just knew they would either both live, or die together. I would've preferred the former. Dammit.

I also really liked the chemistry that had developed between Cal and Sully. They did some major male bonding over the whole shooting thing. I feel horribly cheated that we didn't get to see Cal coaching Sully through treating the bullet wound though. I'd been looking forward to that all week.

Chloe letting herself fall off the bridge reminded me of that scene from The Last of the Mohicans (the Daniel Day-Lewis version) where Cora's sister cracks under the strain of being an Indian captive and lets herself fall off a cliff.
