Whoever decided that precocious, obnoxious, bratty children were comedy gold needs to be taken out behind the woodshed and shown the error of his ways. It's a good thing Sheppard rocked so hard, or this ep would've been a total loss.
John really needs to start thinking with his upstairs brain. He gets the team (in this case, just himself and Rodney) in more trouble that way.
Harmony grated on my nerves in every single second she appeared on screen. Yes, she was a brat, but it didn't help that the actress playing her couldn't act like she was wet if you threw her in a pond. Rodney and Harmony together multiplied the annoyance factor exponentially. I really liked the way John handled her, though. He'd make a great dad.
When John disappeared before the first Genii ambush, Rodney called him by his first name more times in ten seconds than he has in all the previous episodes combined.
Why do all the "medieval" worlds in the Stargate universe remind me of the Medieval Times dinner theater?
When John used the necklace to activate the mini drones, all I could think of was that he was now the rightful queen. Hee.
Skiffy had really lousy sound for me tonight (did anybody else have that problem?), so I had the closed captioning on after missing all the dialogue in the first scene. Whenever Rodney's little Ancient scanner beeped, the closed captioning said, "McKay's PFD is beeping." What does PFD stand for?
The only really positive thing I have to say about this episode is that John was all kinds of awesome. I just love watching him in soldier mode. Plus, he made some really great faces in his exasperation at the whole situation.
This episode had the fewest number of regular cast members in it of any episode ever, didn't it? Even the Teyla and Keller ep had other characters putting in brief appearances. This one was just John and Rodney. This really could have been their Bob Hope and Bing Crosby Road movie, if only it hadn't sucked so much.
