Oh, Illinois. It's so cute how you have to bust out the team news coverage for a lead story about a 2.9 magnitude earthquake that did no damage, caused no injuries, and that most people didn't even notice. California we are not.
The problem with a show being on the air as long as this one has is that it's tough to find new ground to break. Dean facing an impending deadline and admitting he didn't want to die was really powerful...the first time, back in season 3. Now I just feel like he and/or the writers don't remember anything that's happened to him before. All the things that have happened to him should be having a cumulative effect and building on each other, but the writers seem to cherry pick which things carry over and which don't. It makes the characters seem stagnant because the writers are always hitting the reset button to have Sam or Dean experience something with the drama as if it were the first time when it most definitely isn't.
It would serve Crowley right if Rowena overthrew him and took over hell. She'd certainly be more gleefully evil about running the place. Crowley seems more like a bored bureaucrat these days.
Meanwhile, Dean is coming along nicely, even if his shirt and jacket colors are awfully similar. Hopefully the backstitching will bring out the details like it did for Sam.
