Geez, where do I start?
When I saw the trailer, I assumed the clips were from the last two episodes. I had no idea they were going to cram all of those scenes into one episode.
It was nice to have Steve back, but more importantly it was nice to have Steve and Danny back. Both of their phone calls were made of awesome. Danny hasn't done a full-on rant for a while, and I loved how even though it sounded like he was pissed, he made it clear he was worried. I also loved Steve's smirk at the end of the second phone call. Danny is ranting and mocking Steve's pants, so clearly all is right with the world.
See, Steve? You kept your ohana in the dark the whole time, but it didn't stop Five-0 from being there to save your butt at the end anyway. Now imagine what would have happened if you'd worked with them all along. I imagine the end result would have been similar, only without all the gunfire, property damage, and grenade deployment. Hey, wait a minute...that's the real reason you kept them in the dark, isn't it? We all know how much you love making things go 'splody. But maybe at least bring Danny next time. His "escape" from the CIA was ridiculously hot. I'm sorry you missed it. You should be too.
I was getting a little worried at the end there that Danny wouldn't get a hug like everyone else, but apparently Steve was just saving Danny for last because he wasn't planning to let go of him afterward. ♥
Kono's boyfriend trauma would have had more impact if she'd been dating Adam Noshimuri for more than five seconds. At first I didn't think it was plausible that she didn't know who he was, but then it turned out that she did know who he was and that was even less plausible. Under what circumstances did he manage to charm her past what one would hope would be her natural reluctance to date members of the yakuza? Guess we'll never know. Hey, Lenkov, there are times when 'things happen off screen' just doesn't fly.
Let me see a show of hands. Who thinks Wo Fat is actually going to stay in prison for the rest of the series? ::peers out into LJ Land:: Yeah, me neither. But Steve could use a break, so let's let him enjoy his moment and not tell him yet.
