I'm not sure why, but I'm having this terrible feeling of déjà vu.

Maybe I'll figure it out by the time I finish writing about tonight's episode, "Nightshifter." I mean "Slash Fiction." Sorry, I get my episodes where the boys end up on the FBI's Most Wanted list after a bank robbery they didn't commit all confused. But at least we didn't have to wait until "Jus in Bello," I mean the following season, for them to be declared dead and taken off the list again after being attacked at a police station.

It's bad enough the show has been depriving us of classic rock, but classic rock aliases too? No fair! Although honestly it's a wonder the boys aren't called out on their aliases by everyone they meet. Those names are not exactly subtle. But maybe they can avoid ditching the Impala now that they've been declared dead again and the Leviathan!Winchesters left behind an Impala to impound.

Was that Air Supply Dean was singing along with? If so, he never gets to mock Sam's taste in music ever again. I know Dean singing a lame power ballad in the car was meant to be funny, but I was far more amused by the forlorn squealing from the little Pegasus (unicorn?) when Dean cut it down and tossed it in the back seat. Sorry, Dean, you can't be too macho for a Pegasus (or unicorn) when you know the lyrics to Air Supply songs. But I did like how the Leviathan!Winchesters were retracing Sam and Dean's steps, starting with the pilot. That was a nice little trip down memory lane.

I still don't know what's up with Bobby, except now we know for sure he's not a Leviathan. Or rather, he wasn't. And now kind of is, except for how he isn't. At the very least, he wouldn't have been doing all that experimenting on how to kill Leviathans if he really were one, because if he'd been a Leviathan, he'd already know what his weaknesses were. I'm not sure Leviathan!Bobby's head was disposed of far enough away, but I suppose the body being encased in concrete will slow down the reassembly some.

Was anybody surprised by Sam walking away after he found out about Dean killing Amy? ::peers out into the Internet:: Yeah, me either. I wish they'd gotten beyond this point, though, and could talk to each other like real grown-up people. But as long as we're revisiting previous seasons tonight...

I loved loved loved Dick the businessleviathan. If you can't take out the Winchesters with brute force, destroy them with a media campaign. Now that's thinking outside the box, Dick! And I loved Leviathan!Dick looking down on Crowley the way Crowley looks down on humans, and treating him just as disdainfully. "Don't roofie me and call it romance." You can tell that's not how Crowley thought that meeting would go. Maybe he'll try to ally himself with the Winchesters again, at least until it suits him not to.

Yeah, I'm getting this feeling that they are taking whatever worked in previous seasons and throwing it into the pot.

And you know Sheriff Mills has to die now. I mean, as soon as someone likes her, that's pretty much a death sentence on this show. ;)

I was enjoying the episode--snarky Chet, Frank, squeaking unicorn, Air Supply, LeviaBoys snarking on Dean and Sam, Dick's verbal smackdown of Crowley--until we went back to other series well of the boys not being able to trust each other and thus splitting up. Again.

It'd be nice if the sheriff doesn't die as a consequence of being a woman on Supernatural, but with all the other retreading going on I'm not holding my breath.
