This is one of the very first icons I ever made, which is not saying much since my icon making skillz largely involve cropping and resizing. Jared just looks really good in fall colors, and this pic also really brings out his eyes, which I love.

Another icon that shows off my mad cropping and resizing skillz. I love really bad weather, and we get some good storms around here that I sometimes blog about. I also go to the annual Severe Storms Seminar at Fermilab most years and needed an icon for that too. I originally tried to make a lightning strike icon, but they all looked really lame when shrunk down to 100x100. This pic manages to cram all kinds of bad weather into a tiny little userpic.

More of my cropping and resizing skillz. I just wanted a badass John Sheppard icon and I liked the look of the woods ~~in Vancouver~~ on the alien planet.

I'm embarrassingly proud of this one. I grabbed a lot of Steve and Danny icons from other people when I first got into H50, but they were all either a little blurry or were used extensively by other people too. I wanted an icon that was just mine. I did crop and resize a screencap for this, but it originally had someone walking along the beach behind Steve such that he looked like he had a pair of legs growing out of his chin. I managed to very carefully erase the other person without making it look obvious that I'd done so. It was the first time I'd tried anything like that and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. That said, I may fiddle with the coloring at some point. On my desktop and laptop it looks fine, but on my PC at work the skin tones look really weirdly orange. I don't know how much of that is due to various monitor settings and how much is due to the actual coloring of the pic.

Icon by vileseagulls. The only thing I liked about the Supernatural ep "Red Sky at Morning" was the creepy ghost ship (well, okay, that and the two ghost brothers colliding in a shower of water). This was the only icon I ever saw anyone make of that ship. I was hoping to use it more for posts about creepy movies and TV eps, but I wound up using my "Scarecrow" icon instead. This one may be culled if I ever run out of icon space (which fortunately won't be for awhile yet since I now seem to be able to limit myself to one or two icons per fandom, instead of 20).
