Movie: The X-Files: I Want to Believe
Apr. 12th, 2009 03:24 pmI'm still working my way through season 1 of The X-Files with friends on our weekly TV night and finally got up the wherewithal to check out the latest X-Files movie from the library. It was kind of lame in that Mulder and Scully had little to no impact on the case they were called in to consult on, but it did have its moments.
Why did no one tell me that Callum Keith Rennie was in this movie? Or that he was totally rocking a Russian accent through the whole thing? He was completely and totally awesome. I haven't been this taken by a part of his in years.
Alex Diakun was also in it. He's previously played Chick Savoy on DaVinci's Inquest, the reaper in the Supernatural episode "Faith," and Höhne on Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. According to the commentary track, he was also CKR's Russian coach.
The movie really pushed the Mulder/Scully romance angle, yet the one scene between Mulder and Skinner was the most slashtastic thing I've seen since Krycek's final scene in the series. I think David Duchovny thought so too, because there was a clip in the gag reel of him playing it up a little bit.
