A lot of people I know on LJ are participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year. Personally, I can't imagine writing 50,000 words of any one thing. Back when I was still in school and was regularly being assigned to write ten page papers, I don't think I ever actually hit the minimum page requirement for any of them. One time when I was in grad school, I was assigned to write a ten page paper comparing and contrasting two manuals on archiving. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't eke out more than four pages, and yet I still got an A because I'd managed to cover everything I needed to in those four pages. So, NaNo is probably not for me.

Fortunately, there's an alternative: NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month). All you have to do is make at least one blog entry every day of the month, so I decided to give that one a go. We'll see how I do. Be prepared for random blathering on days when I have writer's block.
