E=MO²

I have never been involved in a fandom that bandied the word 'emo' about as much as Supernatural fandom does. Some fans say that they can't get other family members or friends into the show because those people think it's too emo. Some fans say they don't like Sam because he's too emo. Some fans say they don't like Dean as much as they used to because he's become too emo. So I guess my question is, where does one draw the line between emo and normal human emotion?
