I was probably a little rough on Eureka in my previous post. Blame it on the fact that I just watched CSI: Miami. The things I do for Joe Flanigan.
In the interest of full disclosure, I would like to point out that I watched the pilot of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation when it first aired. It made me want to throw large, heavy things at my TV, oh, every 5 seconds or so. I also watched the pilot of CSI: Miami when it first aired. It made me want to throw larger, heavier things. So if you're a big CSI fan? I'll be piling on the hate under the cut. Just so you know.
The real reason I sat through this ep is that Joe Flanigan guest starred in it. He played an abusive boyfriend/murder suspect. Joe did a great job of being a snide jerk. I had no problem hating him. It made me want to dig out my tape of "Common Ground" to wash the character out of my brain.
Now, on to the CSI hate.
You know, every time I get called down to the station to talk to the police, I always make sure to wear clothes that have blood on them. Even when I'm wearing multiple layers, I make sure to keep the layer with the blood on to make sure I bring the incriminating evidence with me.
All of the suspects folded like wet cardboard and gave full and detailed confessions after just one question. One. Real cops wish it were that easy.
So the suspect in the male victim's shooting lied because he didn't want animal control to put his dog down, since his dog was the one that accidentally triggered the rifle that killed the victim. Why would animal control punish the dog for that? Is the dog in danger of shooting other people too? And seriously, the dog was named Shooter. What next, the butler did it?
The CSI team? Are morons. Irresponsible morons. The M.E. was a font of information about how the female victim died, even down to determining the cause of death, before she started the autopsy. Jump to conclusions much? The same M.E. kept taking her mask off while handling the body when she eventually did get around to the autopsy. How is she not dead yet? Human remains can transmit all kinds of nasty things. M.E.'s don't wear masks to keep the corpses from getting infections.
These crack investigators spent the first 40 minutes of the ep investigating the female victim's death without ever verifying her identity with a photo I.D., thus getting the identification wrong and wasting everyone's time by questioning people who didn't even know her. They're the police. It would've killed someone to get on the computer and look up her drivers license photo? Morons.
Umm, forensics geniuses? Just because someone is shot with their own gun doesn't make it a suicide. It's not like guns have a DNA operated trigger lock. They fire just as well for other people.
I will never, ever understand the popularity of this franchise.
And now a word from our sponsor:
Sonic keeps running ads for its restaurants here. I've never seen a Sonic anywhere, so I looked up their locations on the Sonic website. The nearest Sonic is over an hour from here. It's so far south that it's barely in the metropolitan viewing area. Who do they think is going to drive that far for a slushy?
I hope some shows I like come back on the air soon so that I can prove that there are programs out there that I do enjoy. It's been all about the negative lately.
