the_other_sandy: Black and white TV (TV)
For the last year or so, I've been reviewing Eureka for Sci Fi Chicks. Sadly, after losing two-thirds of our staff to assorted real life issues, we decided to let the site go dormant. Meanwhile, I'll be carrying on with my reaction posts here like I always have.

Colin Ferguson directed this episode, so Sheriff Carter wasn't on screen much while Ferguson was doing director stuff. His absence was explained by a 48 hour DoD recertification test that we occasionally got to see parts of.

This gave Erica Cerra a shot at more screen time herself with an episode focusing on Deputy Jo Lupo. Cerra got to play Jo, Julia (a scientist at Global Dynamics who stole Jo's DNA to impersonate her), and Julia pretending to be Jo. She also got to play comedy, romance, Jo's usual tough self, and she got to sing at Café Diem's karaoke night (very Fabulous Baker Boys--if only everyone who sang karaoke had her voice).

Poor Jo continues to have the worst luck with the sheriff job, though. First she got passed over for Jack. Then she got passed over for an android. Now when she finally gets to do the job in Jack's absence, Julia's impersonation of her made everyone think she was incompetent until the truth came out.

It was great to see Erica Cerra (and Jo Lupo) do more than stand around and look tough, but I'm looking forward to the return of Sheriff Carter next week. I missed his sense of humor.
