Okay, Joss fans, I did it. I stayed past episode 6, the magical tipping point whereby control of the show was supposed to revert from the network back to Joss and I would finally see the brilliance of Joss's true vision. Only I didn't. Yes, the show managed to produce 2 whole episodes that I liked and the dialogue certainly got better, but I still hate the premise and I even wound up hating some of the characters that I used to like. In fact, I hate pretty much everybody except Boyd and Sierra at this point. The show is a muddled mess of philosophical meanderings and dropped plot threads and I've come to suspect that Joss's true vision was, "I want to work with my friend Eliza Dushku again." I wash my hands of the whole thing.

Only one more episode left after this one. Here's hoping something gets resolved.

I'm having a hard time believing this is a Joss Whedon show. Even network meddling shouldn't be able to account for the portrayal of women episode after episode.
