H50 Ep: Pahele

What a waste of opportunity for character moments.

How did Steve feel going into Halawa for the first time since his escape and seeing guards who used to be, you know, guarding him? How is he coping after his torture? How did Danny feel about dealing with a bunch of kidnapped kids his daughter's age who attended a school much like hers? Guess we'll never know.

In all the frantic running around with tight deadlines, I love how they still managed to find time to stop and wash the mud off Danny's Camaro whenever it got dirty. 8-P

Five-0 must have quite a reputation when it comes to maintaining a chain of evidence. First they let Hesse set fire to the money from the asset forfeiture locker, and now they let Castillo's people blow up $80 million in drug evidence.

Speaking of Castillo, I just have to say it...Five-0 was Keyser Söze'd! Hee. Castillo reminded me a lot, in both appearance and attitude, of my former governor Rod Blagojevich, who is having his first sentencing hearing tomorrow regarding his corruption convictions. That should be a circus that'll put Ringling Bros. to shame.

Could that review board have made Joe sound any more like a superhero while ostensibly condemning him for his actions in Korea? And now that Joe is being forced to retire, he seems to think that makes him Batman to Steve's Commissioner Gordon. Steve could (should) have arrested him for kidnapping Hiro Noshimuri. I really hope Joe's story runs its course and they write him out very soon. He's a much bigger Mary Sue than Lori.

And speaking of Lori, I would love to see the governor have a meeting with her over her "oversight" of Five-0, especially now that she's supporting Steve and his crazy against the governor. The governor looked very surprised when Lori backed Steve instead of him.

former governor Rod Blagojevich

Normally I don't post on reaction posts (don't ask me why, I'm weird or just run out of time or nothing to say in response? who knows)...

Anyways!

I had to comment on the above. While watching those scenes, I kept wondering why he looked so danged familiar and you are so right! He did look creepily like Blagojevich.

Me thinks he has an in if they ever decide to do a biopic on that dude. Gods, please no!

I was also surprised that they skipped the angst and Grace-references over school kids being kidnapped. It seems like she's getting down-played this season.

I liked that the guys had a decent cargument, but I expected an explosion from Danny over [a] the mud and [b] Steve using the Camaro to stop a truck. Maybe they just skipped the scene where Steve had to run the Camaro through a car wash on the way back as part of his punishment.

Does Joe have a split personality, or is he just on some really good drugs? He kidnaps Hiro Noshimuri, locks him in the trunk of his car, then says, "Oh, sure, we can trust the (almost complete lack of) information he's giving us." Then, as soon as he leaves Steve, Joe's making mysterious phone calls about "how close he's getting." The impression I got was that Joe was talking about Steve, but Steve wouldn't be getting anywhere if Joe weren't leading the way. What the heck?!

Me, too! But the Camaro is important!

I was so wondering why Lori didn't report them or get in trouble herself with the Governor for that field trip to North Korea? Seems like that was a little out of line and maybe worth his attention? The Navy sure thought it was.

Thanks!
