I Have a New Superpower!

All I have to do is put a DVD in my DVD player and press 'play,' and O'Hare will instantly reroute all incoming planes so that their flight paths go directly over my living room for the duration of the DVD I'm watching! It's amazing!

Say, that's impressive! Much bigger than going to the bathroom to make the doorbell or phone ring. ;D

But just as annoying. And it only works if I put in a DVD of something dialogue-driven, like House or a murder mystery. If I'm just watching things go 'splody, I'm allowed to do that in peace and quiet. Go fig.

Awesome!!! I bet that comes in handy when you need to listen to lots of whispery dialogue. Does your TV volume even go up high enough to cover the jumbo jets? My superpower (going to the bathroom at a restaurant to ensure prompt arrival of hot food) is so well known that my friends thank me when I come back, freshly powdered, to find my food already growing cold and all of them halfway to dessert.

It does! It's also very handy for the climax of murder mysteries ('and the murderer is VROOOOOOMMMM').

I wouldn't torture my neighbors (I live in an apartment) by turning up the volume that high. I usually just hit pause until the engine noises die down. When it's really bad, like that time I was getting a plane every 2 minutes for an hour and a half, I turn on the closed captioning.

LOL! Not the best superpower to have, but ah well. ;)

I greatly prefer my other superpower--the power of cat attraction. Cats love me.

Awesome! Ah, my love-hate affair with O'Hare. Good to know I now have an "in." And uber-awesome about the cats. Are you allergic to them? They seem to really like that.

P.S. I caught the last 2.1 episodes of "Children of Earth" yesterday. Really good. But sad. (Even with the plot holes.)

I know that cats are usually most attracted to people who are allergic to them or people who don't like them, but I seem to have the word 'sucker' tattooed on my forehead in letters only cats can see.
