SGA Ep: The Seed
I can haz John and Rodney tiem nao, plz?
Don't get me wrong, I'm liking the season so far, but could the writers possibly give John and Rodney less screen time together? I want my snark back.
If cutting one teeny tiny piece of tendril off Keller nearly killed her, then why didn't it affect her at all when Teyla blasted the crap out of the organism, Ronon hacked it apart, and Sheppard crashed a jumper into it? (And P.S.--the jumper crash was awesome.)
If there really was a Wraith cruiser growing out of Keller, does this mean there's a live person at the heart of every Wraith cruiser? What would happen to the cruiser if the person was disconnected from it? Could the person be saved? Enquiring minds want to know...
The Atlantis command staff really need to work on their communication skills. Just turning out the lights on Keller and telling her they've been ordered to evacuate her building? No, that wouldn't freak her out at all. And yes, I know the organism was using Keller to plan and reason, so telling her what they were up to would have allowed the organism to muck up their plans, but they didn't know that at that point. Then Woolsey ordered Radek to cut power to the city without making an announcement first. Can you imagine working in some out of the way lab somewhere without regular contact with command staff and suddenly having your lights go out? You wouldn't know if it was a random power failure, or one of those shadow creatures from "Hide & Seek," or if the city was sinking or under attack, or what. Elizabeth used to make city-wide announcements for things that affected the whole city.
Boy, Sheppard is really determined to throw himself on a grenade for somebody this season, isn't he? That hallucination of Ford he had last week seems to have hit him hard. On the plus side, though, I get Shep-whumping two weeks in a row, and it's not even my birthday.
Woolsey was officious without being completely unreasonable. He at least managed to loosen his death grip on the rule book when it became necessary, so there may be hope for him. I really loved the way Sheppard handled him. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Sheppard doesn't want Woolsey's job. Poor John always looks so uncomfortable when he's The Man. I'm looking forward to more scenes between the two of them.

The funny thing was, as soon as we were told about when they got infected I immediately thought about Carter back on Earth. So I'm glad they didn't let that info hanging.

I had a very schizophrenic reaction to that scene. For one thing, it seemed like they were getting a little heavy-handed with the introduction of the Keller/Rodney romance. If the show's going to go that way, I really need to be eased into it.
For another thing, the sudden deep, close friendship between Carson and Rodney that seemed to spring out of nowhere in "Sunday" has never sat right with me. Yes, they've been friends since the pilot, but we've never seen the kinds of scenes between them that we've seen between Rodney and Sheppard, and having the writers suddenly crap on four years of John and Rodney's friendship by making Carson Rodney's BFF just bugged me.
Yeah, so part of my brain was going 'cute scene,' while another part of my brain was going 'OMG WRONG WRONG WRONG.'
