Women's Murder Club Ep: Never Tell

Is this more fallout from the WGA strike?

For awhile there, Joe Flanigan was playing Special Agent John Ashe, who was working with Lindsay Boxer on the "Kiss-Me-Not" case. There was something about him that was giving me an Eyes of Laura Mars feeling, and I really thought he was going to turn out to be the "Kiss-Me-Not" killer.

Then the strike occurred. Women's Murder Club was one of the last shows to come back with new episodes after the strike. I heard it went through a bit of retooling and a change in showrunners. Meanwhile, Joe's regular gig, Stargate Atlantis, which wasn't affected by the strike because it's based in Vancouver and most of the writers on staff are Canadian, went back into production on time, which meant that Joe wasn't available for Women's Murder Club anymore.

Tonight, the "Kiss-Me-Not" killer was revealed to be a young man who had seen his father kill his older sister when he was 12. The kid never really felt like the kind of person the "Kiss-Me-Not" killer was set up to be from the pilot to me, so I'm wondering if this is how the story was meant to play out all along, or if the writers had to change horses in mid-stream when Joe became unavailable. We'll probably never know, unless Joe was told the whole through plot and somebody asks him about it at a convention.

Uh-oh, did I miss "Women's Murder Club" last night? Damn! I caught it last week, by accident, so obviously the change to Tuesday has not sunk into my brain yet.

Yeah, the season finale of WMC was last night. I can never remember it's on Tuesdays now either, but fortunately I've programmed all of my shows into the calendar on my PDA. If I hadn't seen it on my calendar page yesterday, I would've forgotten too.
