SPN Ep: Halt & Catch Fire
I remember this show!
They went on a hunt! An actual hunt with no demons or angels or Marks or anything! It tells you how long it's been since that happened that TPTB felt compelled to give us a Then segment showing that yes, the boys do hunt ghosts and this is how they do it.
I had to laugh at Sam and Dean talking about what Ghost!Dean would do to Sam if Sam drove Baby after Dean died. "If?" Because, umm, Sam has driven Baby after Dean's death a few times now, and if Ghost!Dean didn't come back to off Sam for douching up the Impala by installing an iPod dock, then I think Sam is probably pretty safe.
But can we please stop acting like everyone over 30 is some kind of Luddite who doesn't understand GPS devices or turn-by-turn directions or this newfangled Book of Faces thing? You know, the Internet was a thing when we were in college too. It was just slower, and the computers were less portable and more expensive (and we had to carry them to class uphill both ways in a snowstorm every day).
Meanwhile, Dean has progressed from Space Invader to a Leprechaun-looking thing:

I have a feeling he's not going to look like himself until the backstitching is in.

Sam isn't all that much younger than Dean and he gets all that computer and internet stuff. In his own way, Dean is kind of doing the retro thing like a kind of hipster, though he would hate to hear it labeled that way. He's performing his idea of masculinity.

I think it's just different areas of interest. Dean can use a computer just fine when he wants to do research or watch porn. He also successfully managed a dating profile. But he's also been driving (or being driven) all over the country without sat nav since he was 5 years old, so it's not something he feels he needs. Same with social networking. Who would he keep in touch with? Sam is sitting right next to him. If he wants to contact anyone else, he just calls them.
On the other hand, I've never owned an iPhone but I still know what Siri is, and my 70 year old father is on Facebook.

And, like you said, it's not like Dean has people he wants to stay in touch with. Heh, I use online directions but also do maps myself.

I love your Dean, tho...he just looks like he's having a bad hair day at this point. =)

Dean's kind of looking like a Keebler elf to me at this point. I need to give him more hair.
