No, Seriously, WTF?!
I just got a look at the newly revamped Delicious. I'm stunned. The site went from the most useful tool for managing fic ever to a useless waste of bandwidth overnight. I can't tell you how many times I've used tag combinations to dig up fics for storyfinder comms. Now my tag bundles are gone, only about 1/5 of my tags are usable, and my Firefox add-on no longer works.
I'm thanking my lucky stars that I had the foresight to import all my Delicious bookmarks into Firefox when I first heard Delicious was going to be sold. I even have them tagged, and I can use either my bookmarks menu or the awesome bar to search for them. It's not the same though.
I've looked at some other social bookmarking sites, but until somebody gives me my tag bundles back, I think I'll stick with Firefox. I'm not deleting my Delicious account yet in case the new owners see the error of their ways, but I don't think I'll be adding to it anymore. Why would anyone take a uniquely useful site like that and shoot it in the foot?

This is a question being asked all over my f'list. It's inexplicable to everyone.

I looked at Pinboard. It looked pretty good, but not good enough to pay money for. And it didn't have tag bundles either.
Unfortunately no matter where I go, I don't think my tags will transfer correctly since they are currently broken in Delicious. I'm not sure how much work I want to put into fixing them at this point.
I suppose it's time to cut the cord. It's so easy to make e-books out of fic on the Internet these days that I've just been downloading 'read later' fic to my Sony Reader instead of bookmarking it anyway, and Calibre has a good tag searching system for e-books (or e-fics). But I really miss how useful Delicious was.

I used to save fic on my hard drive, and then completely forget about it. (Also, the files used up a ton of space. That new save to PDF option on AO3 is heaven) The archiving sites make it so much easier to search by subject or author. But then again, there's the risk someday a specific page will be deleted. I guess there are no perfect solutions.

I save fic to my hard drive as .epubs. They take up a lot less space than .pdfs. And yeah, I've been burned enough by disappearing fic that if I really love a fic, I save it immediately just in case.
Anyway all my old Delicious bookmarks are saved in Firefox, so I can do title and author searches in the awesome bar, or search by tags in the bookmark menu or the awesome bar. I can't combine tags, dang it, but that's probably going to be as good as it gets now.
