Post-Snowmageddon 2011 Update

I may have to take a personal snow day tomorrow. As of right now, it's stopped snowing and is only a little breezy, but the parking lot and sidewalks haven't been plowed yet and my car is a giant vaguely car-shaped mound of snow. Even if I could dig out my car, the 2 feet of snow in the lot would prevent me from going anywhere. I want to wait until after the lot gets plowed to start digging out my car because the plow will only pile more snow behind my car when it comes through. I foresee a lot of shoveling tomorrow, which I'm not looking forward to. It's supposed to be really cold.

I'm in the same boat as you about that. We shoveled a little (I have a cold and standing outside for 10 minutes made my cough turn into hacking up a lung) but my car is absolutely buried right now. We just got a call from the Village letting us know they are having problems with plowing and that all school districts by us are canceling school tomorrow too.

Pretty much there's 30 miles between me and my work, lol. If I can't even get out of my own driveway, I doubt I can make it to work tomorrow.

Good luck to you! Don't over do it and be safe!

Don't over do it

That's why I'm figuring it's going to take awhile. Between the volume of snow and the cold, I don't expect I'll be outside for too long at a stretch.

Please don't over do it. Stay warm and safe!

sounds like we went through here in the east, only we've been getting the snow on a weekly basis, so we're so used to shoveling now. no, not really, getting sick and tired of it! and yeah, it's going to be bitterly cold here too. now if it would just kill off all the lyme disease ticks...

Normally I don't have to shovel. Building maintenance takes care of that. They finally got around to snowblowing the sidewalks this afternoon, but the plows haven't been through yet. I'll dig out my car, but I'm not shoveling an entire parking lot. The hardest part may be getting the shovel out of my trunk.

Be careful out there! Don't kill yourself, and don't lose any digits. Take the snow day and get the car out in stages.

Yikes. Gotta say, not missing the Midwest right now! :)

Be safe,
Samazon

I'm waiting until the wind chill advisory ends later to get started.

Gotta say, not missing the Midwest right now!

But on the other hand, you never get snow days in L.A.

Took me an hour to dig our car out yesterday and we only had a foot of snow. Can't make my mind up if I prefer the warm temps which lead to snow or the frighteningly sub zero windchills that stop the snow.

*fingers crossed you get to dig your car out soon*

I would much rather deal with snow than the -21 F wind chill we have going now. I'm going to wait until it warms up a bit (comparatively speaking) before I start shoveling.
