Tell Me What To Do

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) starts on Sunday. I don't have 50,000 words to say about anything so I won't be participating, but I don't like feeling left out either. Last year, I successfully completed NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month). This year, I was thinking of doing [livejournal.com profile] nacraftpromo (National Craft Project Month).

I certainly have enough cross-stitch projects in my closet to choose from, ranging from completely unstarted to 3/4 done, but I can't decide whether to pick up a project I've already started, or start something new especially for NaCraftProMo. If I work on something I've already started, I at least stand a chance of finishing it, but it won't feel any different from any other time I've worked on it. If I start something new, I'll never finish it in a month, but it will be my special NaCraftProMo project that I could save and pick up next November too.

Help me decide.

Hee! Good thing I didn't delete that comm. :-D

I should keep track of my stitches again. :-)

I would have done it anyway. My BF and I haven't been able to do our regular craft night since she had her baby 4 years ago, so I haven't worked on anything in forever.

I have multiple projects I've started, as well as many more I haven't. Even after I decide which type of project to do, I'll still have to decide on a specific project. I have to stop buying patterns until I actually make some of this stuff!

I know that feeling! Mom and I unloaded a bunch of craft kits when we had the sale. Stuff that we had gotten and then lost interest in that kind of project.

Happy crafting!

Heh. I see our opinions aren't helping much.

A project you finish is always special. An unfinished NaCraftProMo item is not special. (This is coming from a chronic non-finisher.)

But this is supposed to be a NaNoWriMo substitute. NaNo is all about people writing 50,000 words in the month of November, not taking 30,000 words they wrote before and adding 20,000 words to it.

Ultimately I decided to go with a new project. Hobby Lobby and Michaels have sadly downsized their needlecraft sections, so I took a bunch of patterns with me and decided to make whatever I could find supplies for. I actually wound up with two.

Now I just need to decide whether to make the awesome Voyager satellite against a backdrop of space with a couple of planets, or the space gate pattern (from Stargate Atlantis) that I bought at MediaWest.
