Eureka Ep: What About Bob

More Jack and Henry, please. I missed you guys.

The customers at Café Diem watching the action unfold in Lab 27 as if it were The Truman Show amused the heck out of me. They sounded just like every fannish Yahoo! Group or LJ comm I've ever belonged to.

The whole time Jack and Allison were running around in the woods, I kept waiting for someone to get attacked by an Unas or a Jaffa or something. That's what I get for watching SG-1 run around in the woods around Vancouver of alien planets for ten seasons. It got so bad that when Henry was talking about getting sent to a federal supermax in Colorado, I immediately thought that was just a cover for him getting sent to Cheyenne Mountain to consult with the SGC. But those are my Stargate issues.

I like that Allison has more to do this season (and more than one facial expression to do it with), but I was disappointed that she was relegated to the role of damsel in distress this week. She was a totally kick-ass field agent in season 1, even showing up Carter with many of her skills, so it was kind of galling to watch her lying there screaming like she was in one of SciFi's Saturday night monster movies while the men banded together to save her. She could've at least tried to kick Snake!Bob in the face.

But that was a minor annoyance that will only turn into a major annoyance if the trend continues. Something that majorly annoys me already is the brickbat to the head that the Degree deodorant product placement is becoming. It was cute when Degree was doing little fake infomercials as if Degree had been invented in Eureka, but having the logo suddenly appear on the overalls of a lab employee and having actual cast members of Eureka pitching the deodorant, even in character, all in the same episode was over the top. If I were male, I would never, ever buy this deodorant for the rest of my life just to spite them. I'm sick of hearing about it, and it's only episode two of the season. Can we maybe ditch the Degree "synergy" and focus on what Eva's up to? Thanks, that would be awesome.
