SGA Ep: Vengeance

Boy, I got a lot of housework done during SG-1 (and anyone who knows me at all knows how very much I hate cleaning and how much I'd rather be doing anything else...except, apparently, watching SG-1).

SGA, on the other hand, was great fun.

A bug hunt! I love bug hunts! The Alien movies, Screamers, Leviathan... It's a sci fi cliché, but it's a cliché for a reason--it's fun. You just never know when something really nasty is going to trap you in those long, straight corridors in the dark. ::pauses for a moment of nostalgia for the days spent playing the RPG Robotech, hunting (and being hunted by) Invid in the corridors and air ducts of space stations...ah, those were the days:: But I digress.

I love the action/adventure eps of SGA. There's just something about Sheppard and Ronon and running and shooting.

When did everyone start calling Sheppard by his first name? I know Teyla's been doing it off and on for awhile, but this was a first for Ronon, wasn't it? And when is Rodney going to start? Come on, it's been three years.

"Think you used enough dynamite there, Butch?" A shout out to one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies of all time. I should probably upgrade my VHS copy to a DVD.

I hope somebody screencaps this ep. I badly need an icon of Sheppard and Ronon from the escape towards the end there, pointing the big guns at opposite ends of the hallway and covering each other's back. The director was even kind enough to dwell on that shot for a minute so I could fully appreciate it.

What a coincidence that the Atlantis crew just happened to kidnap a brilliant scientist/geneticist to experiment on. Michael did make an awful lot of progress in a very short period of time. And what is it with geneticists thinking that just because they bred a creature, it will mindlessly do their bidding? The same thing happened on SG-1 a couple of seasons ago with the supersoldiers Anubis created. Isn't that like giving birth to a child and expecting that child to mindlessly obey your every command? Any parents out there can attest to how likely that is to happen.

Looking forward to more of Michael and his army of bug people.
