Bonus Meme -- Icons
Comment and I'll pick seven of your icons, and then you will explain why you love/are using the icon (who doesn't love talking about their icons, seriously) and then post your explanation/this meme in your journal for other people to squee about their icons, and basically it will be a huge squeefest of love and 100x100 square pixels.

pentapus, who also drew the picture. I'm a McShep fan (in both the gen and slash varieties) and I was looking for a good McShep icon. This one made me laugh. John and Rodney are too cute as kids, and their personalities really come through too, with John playing with his toy fighter jet and Rodney crankily working on his laptop.
I love really bad weather. I go to the severe storms seminar at Fermilab every year. We get some pretty good storms around here in the late summer and fall, so I wanted an icon I could use when I write about the weather. I was originally looking for a lightning at night picture I could turn into an icon, but none of them looked good when reduced to 100x100. Then I found this picture and got two of my favorite weather phenomena in one shot. It even reduced well. And according to the current forecast, I may get to use it tomorrow.

triptuckersdesk. I was looking for Torchwood icons I could use when blogging Torchwood, and I nearly killed myself laughing when I saw this one, because this? Is exactly the reaction I often have while watching the show. The Torchwood folks make a lot of bad decisions and create a lot of their own problems, so this icon is perfect for writing up those episodes where I want to smack some characters in the head. The caption also perfectly matches the expression on Jack's face and his body language.
This icon is by
nyaubaby based on original art by
urdsama over at
the_dean_show. I love Sam, so I wanted a Sam icon. I chose this one for a whole bunch of reasons. I love the art itself; Sam looks so content here listening to his tunes. I also love the coloring on Sam (I miss Sam's brown hoodie from season 1), and I especially love the background and the little musical notes floating around. I also wanted an icon to use when I wrote about music, so this icon does double duty.
I wanted a generic icon I could use for non-fannish posts. I sometimes play around on Kaleidoscope Painter when I'm stressed out, and I always wished there was a way to save some of the cooler pictures I made. Well, I finally figured out how to save them, then thought they'd make cool icons. I made about seven of them, but I decided to use this one because the shape was so unusual and I loved the way the colors turned out.
I'm from Chicago, and it's one of my favorite cities in the world. Like many Chicagoans, I love architecture and I love our skyline, so I thought it would make a cool icon for real life events, like when I go to the Printer's Row Book Fair, or just when I write about anything related to home.

tennyo. It's another one that made me laugh out loud. Not only did I like (and need an icon of) the sentiment, it was also a perfect parody of Windows error messages.
