I actually liked it quite a bit. As for the tossing Zelenka over the precipice, my brother was watching with it and I asked 'is that realistic?' and he said yes (he studied physics) but don't get him started on the medical stuff (he's also EMS).

I could see John actually panicking as ELizabeth is teetering on death, the city is hours away from imminent destruction and all of his military knowledge is worthless. It's all science and he has to sit back and watch.
