Dollhouse Ep: Haunted
Only one more episode left after this one. Here's hoping something gets resolved.
This show manages to remain squicky and cute at the same time. Ballard pulled away from Mellie now that he knows she's a doll because having sex with someone who can't give informed consent bothers him, yet Mellie doesn't know she's a doll so she's hurt by the sudden distance from the man she loves. If he pursues the relationship, he hates himself. If he doesn't pursue the relationship, he hurts Mellie and hates himself. I find myself feeling sorry for the both of them, yet simultaneously squicked out by the whole thing.
Likewise with Topher and Sierra. Topher making himself a programmable play date for his birthday was kind of icky, but how cute was Sierra/Dichen Lachman as the gamer girl Topher programmed? I hope Lachman gets a really great part on a really great show after Dollhouse because she's terrific.
As it is, I'm deeply relieved there's only one more episode of this show this season. If it gets renewed, I doubt I'll stick around for another one.
