Dollhouse Ep: Stage Fright
Is FOX running the episodes out of order (not that they would ever do something like that)? Because there were quite a few clips in the "previouslies" that I hadn't seen...umm...previously.
Well, at least Echo got to work as a bodyguard instead of a hooker this week, so that's one rant off the table.
It's interesting that not all the handlers seem to care about their charges. Sierra's handler certainly seems to think she's disposable. The handlers in Gunslinger Girl were the same way. Some were very protective of their charges, some only saw their charges as weapons to be deployed, and some hated their charges and everything they represented about the program (there was an awesome episode about what can happen when someone is programmed to please a handler who hates her--I'd love to see something like that on Dollhouse).
I still think it was a mistake to make Dollhouse an acting showcase for Eliza Dushku. She plays tough blue collar chicks really well and I love to watch her do it, but she doesn't have a huge range. Meanwhile, her co-star Dichen Lachman (Sierra) is really blowing me away with her performances. I keep wondering what the show would've been like if Lachman had been cast as Echo. Okay, the treatment of women on the show would probably still be pissing me off, but I might be enjoying the acting more.
