Heroes Ep: Cold Wars
I can't believe I forgot to post about Heroes. I've been sick since Friday, and for some reason my brain always flies out the window when I'm sick and I turn into a disorganized mess. I forgot to return a library book too, and I'm a librarian--I work at the freaking library. ::headdesk::
Matt: Who put him in charge of the little band of rebels? Did he just steamroll over everybody with his Daphne grief? Because he may have been a cop, but let's face it, he wasn't a very good cop and he's not exactly the best tactical thinker in the room. I loved his, "We did nothing wrong and they turned us into fugitives!" Yes, they did nothing wrong...except for that part where Mohinder was kidnapping random people and sticking them to his walls. I can see how some people might frown on that.
Daphne: I'm glad she's still alive. It would've grated on my nerves if she died while Maya and Tracy got to live.
Mohinder: After an eternity of watching Mohinder lean whichever way the wind was blowing, it's nice to see him working with a firm moral compass again.
Peter: Let me just get the shallow out of the way first by hoping and praying that Peter gets to wear the black gear he's in now for the rest of the season. That's a good look for him. He's getting pretty good with those flashbangs, too. Meanwhile, Peter continues his quest to become the gentlest badass ever. Sure he'll drug and kidnap you, but he won't hit you and he'll monitor your pulse the whole time to make sure you're okay. And he'll stop your escape by landing on your getaway car and smashing the front end in, but then he'll just sit there and say hi because you know you're caught, right? He'll also shoot you if he has to, but he'll aim for the arm and make a run for it if it looks like he'll have to kill you. It looks like he still has a long way to go before he becomes the future self that shot Nathan.
Nathan: I love how Nathan keeps telling specials that he was taking them to a containment facility in a tone of voice that makes it sound like he was taking them to Disney World. He still doesn't seem to get why no one is jumping at the opportunity to be locked up for the rest of their lives.
Danko: For awhile there, I thought he was going to turn out to have an ability. I was really afraid that when Peter jumped out the window to escape, he was going to discover he couldn't fly anymore because he'd touched Danko. Pooey on Danko playing the victim card to Peter, though. Danko's the one who started it by bursting into the homes of (mostly) law-abiding people with his SWAT team and carting those people off to be drugged and transported to the containment facility. But, "Set phasers on stun," was a great line from someone wound so tight he's probably making diamonds in his colon. I didn't think he'd been issued a sense of humor.
Bennet & Angela: How do you interpret a conversation between two manipulative people who are chronic and talented liars? If Angela were really interested in cobbling her family back together, then why was she on board with Nathan sending a team to capture Peter? And as for HRG, he's playing Danko, Nathan, and Angela for his own agenda. I can believe that he's still hunting specials because it's what he's done his whole adult life and he doesn't know how to do anything else (I laughed out loud when Angela gave him a retirement check and a gold watch). I can also buy that he may be plotting against Nathan and Danko, not because he wants to stop the program, but because he doesn't like the way the program is being run. Basically, he's still just looking out for Numero Uno like he always does. But now he really needs to plot something with Peter. He's already conspiring separately with the rest of Peter's family.
