Oh, the Weather Outside Is Frightful...

...But at least I don't have to go to work in it. My 25 minute commute took me 3 hours last night. It's still dumping down this morning, so I was not looking forward to repeating the experience; however, my library has never closed for snow in the 11 years I've worked there. Even when we had 2 feet of snow come down in one day, we didn't close. This morning, I literally had my hand on the doorknob on my way out to work when my boss called. We're closed! Do you know what this means? For the first time in my adult life, I have a snow day! And it feels just as good as it did when I was a kid!

I had already scheduled today as a day off anyway. Wow, talk about good timing! Fran did go into work (she's already been out sick three days this week,) but sent an email a little while ago saying she might come home early.

All in all this is a really good day to stay inside with a pot of fresh, hot coffee reading a stack of new comics, petting cats, and playing Civization IV!

Substitute gourmet hot chocolate for coffee and fan fic for Civ IV, and I'm right there with you. I even have comics to read and DVDs to watch if I get sick of fic.

How's Fran? Was it just a cold, or something else?

Yeah, I think mostly a cold. We've both had it to varying degrees since last weekend. I think this is going to be a good weekend to stay inside and get better, excepting a grocery run tomorrow or Sunday. Oh well, with the snow and the cold I think it's the best thing we could do anyway. Hopefully we'll be up to putting the some more furniture together at least!
